We are a private, equity funded research and development company working at the intersection of diagnostics, medicine, instrumentation and robotics.
Our firm started life in academia, researching methods of detecting blood disorders from standard CBC results. Wishing to improve upon the accuracy of these tests, we developed new techniques to rapidly screen for abnormal blood properties. The methods were developed at major teaching hospitals and research centers in the UK and the US.
Our current research is examining new techniques to measure the rapid and minuscule movement of fluids across red cell membranes, and their application to medicine. One branch of this investigation is applying combinatorics and transmembrane fluid transport to the problem of determining shelf life in blood banking.
The company owns and protects its intellectual property and is fully management owned.
Location
We moved our headquarters to Lansdowne St. in Cambridge, Massachusetts many years ago, when the neighborhood was filled with warehouses and empty parking lots. Since establishing our firm, the area has become the international center of the life science industry. Coincidence, or part of our firm’s forward looking culture?

Our methodology has been used to measure red cell properties on hundreds of animal species and thousands of human samples providing a wealth of data that are being used to investigate early changes in red cell and their disease associations.
Our research is ongoing, with active research and new insights into the physiology of anoxia in humans and animals. We believe our research will be part of the future understanding of blood physiology.
